The operation was performed by Dr. Jeronim Nadal in the Barraquer Ophthalmology Center, through a chip implanted in the retina.
Developed by the Company Second Sight, the so called Argus II visual system consists of glasses with a micro and a small device, that captures and converts images into electric stimuli through a chip of 60 electrodes.
Through a visual rehabilitation, made by Màcula Visió Optic Center, Aurora is now able to recognize shadows, lights, shapes, contours…etc, integrating all this information in her daily life.
A “new vision” that surely will mark a before and an after in Aurora’s life and also in others with severe visual loss.
